This book from VICTION:ARY is the second one presenting the typecube. The collected projects about typography are exciting!

The brewery Stiegl arranges every year a competition to design labels for their “Braukunst Edition”, a series of beer labels created by artists and designers. This time the subject was to design a label for every participating nation on the European Soccer Championship.
Austrians aren’t good kickers, but they are dominating the ski worldcup.

My propose for Austria was selected to be produced.

The book created by Christof Nardin contains 6 years of work, fun and soccer happend in our graphic design class, supervised by fons hickmann. In collaboration with Gerd Haselsteiner I created this video. It was shown at the book presentation at the Designforum Vienna last saturday. The book shows some projects I collaborated.

Yesterday the book from Die Gestalten Verlag, called “tactile” finally arrived. The typecube is presentet on page 130.

I want to make a little experiment on the web. Aleksandra Domanovic invented a keyword for which google did’nt find any images. So she posted a screenshot of these search so that google show this shot as the amount of the next search.
I’ll try to burst this cycle with this image i made in Beijing. Test on your own if it already works!

Austrias federal president Heinz Fischer gave a try to our interactive table.

After 3 weeks of intensive work on the exhibition we have completed the table. The last 3 days we were very busy and we could sleep only a few hours. I never thought that this videotracking-thing is so complex to set up. Here i want to thank Jens for his support!

The tracking area had to be reduced by reason of the dimly IR-light source and one of the computers needed to be reinstalled on the verge of the exhibitions opening. So we had no time for a test-run before and the complete system was working for the first time at the opening day of the exhibition. On the current level of development the table is not technically mature and it will take some more time to tap the full potential. However, we are very happy that at the end the interface is running stable. You can view the table at the exhibition in the “MAK”, the museum of applied arts vienna, until 15th of july.

After long discussions and lots of researches we are going to realize our semester project. Our class wants to show the work of the last year in the annual exhibition of the university, called »the essence«. The students made movie shorts to the topic »beyond graphic design«.
The matter of our project is to build a interface wich allows the visitors to select and play various movies. Therefor we constructed a table with installed interface, wich sould be positioned in front of a projection screen. So the users can interact with the surface of this table. The selectet movies will be shown on the big screen. News about the project soon..

We are about to arrange a football tournament on campus!The event will take place on Thursday, June 14th at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna. Kick-off at 1pm.Afterwards there is a big party!Poster design by Astrid Seme.
